Janeé L. Folston, LMFTA, is a dedicated Marriage and Family Therapist with a specialized focus on empowering women and couples through complex relationship concerns. Her clinical expertise centers on helping women navigate and heal from past relationship trauma, domestic issues, and the ways these deep-seated experiences may be hindering their ability to excel in the workplace. Janeé guides clients to dig deeper into these traumas to unlock their full personal and professional potential.
She maintains a robust couples practice, offering comprehensive pre-marital and marital counseling, and has spent almost five years serving clients at this company as a clinician since 2021. Janeé is proficient in a variety of systemic therapy models, including Attachment-based, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), and Structural Family Therapy, as well as Christian Counseling, Coaching, Family Systems, Play Therapy, and Positive Psychology. She incorporates faith-based practices into her clinical work when requested by her clients. A native of Hartford, CT, Janeé earned a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2021. This built upon her extensive prior work as a school social worker (in urban and suburban districts), therapeutic mentor, and counselor. Janeé's commitment to the mental health field is rooted in her personal understanding of the great need for clinicians of color. She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Connecticut Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CTAMFT). This clinician is currently completing their post-graduate clinical hours and/or ongoing supervision requirements. |
