Janeé L. Folston is a native of Hartford, CT. Marriage and Family Therapist. Janeé obtained an Associate degree Capital Community College in Social Work and Legal Studies in 2003, Bachelor’s degree in Individualized Studies and Criminal Justice from Charter Oak State College in 2007 and a Master’s in Marriage Family Therapy in 2021. Through her own personal experiences, as a teenager she knew there was a great need for clinicians of color in the field of Mental Health. After working as a school social worker (urban and suburban districts), Therapeutic mentor as a third-party vendor for Department of Children and Families and Counselor for many years she decided to complete her degree and become a clinician. Janeé is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the Connecticut Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CTAMFT).
Janeé has worked with diverse populations, serving couples, families, children, and youth using a variety of systemic therapy models and treatment approaches. Janeé works with clients using the following treatment models; Attachment-based, Christian Counseling, Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Family / Marital, Family Systems, Play Therapy, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT) and Structural Family Therapy. Janee incorporates faith-based practices in her clinical work if requested by her clients. |
